Imagine the barriers that are broken through literacy and a relationship with Christ! There are hundreds of thousands of children in Liberia chained to illiteracy due to financial constraint on the families or unpaid teachers forcing schools to close. 1 of 5 Liberian children will not enter primary school this fall and 1 of 2 will never complete primary school in their lifetime!!
Schools of Hope are crushing those statistics and bringing quality education to the kids in our communities through scholarships and sponsorships from generous donors for now. Last year, over 130 students were granted tuition assistance allowing them to be enrolled at either Hope Lutheran School in Joehzon or New Hope Lutheran School in Gbarnga.
This year, we praise God that we were able to extend tuition assistance to every ELCLS school in Liberia - 18 Lutheran schools were given aid for hundreds of indigent kids in their community.
Since self-sustainability for the individual, community and ministry is also at the heart of our ministry, the scholarships is a temporary solution to a critical issue. The long-term goal is to produce income through Farms, generating income to offer a Christian education regardless of their gender, religion or economic status. Praise be to God, we know He will do it!!
(Another project and potential source of income is Hope Radio Station)
Please pray for God to be glorified through the families who want to send their kids to school but cannot unless He parts the waters!
