Sponsor a child now - give hope!
|
Sponsors play a vital role in the lives of the child through their prayer and financial support but also through ongoing encouragement through cards, photos and artworks exchanged several times per year. HCC kids grow up knowing they are not alone!
Once a sponsor has been identified, leadership works within the network of the national Lutheran church, ELCLS, to identify children living in the most extreme and desperate situations. After in-person interviews are conducted and extended family's consent, the child is brought home, joining one of the HCC families. They will be raised in a Christ-centered home while attending a Lutheran school and connecting with their local worshipping community.
There are kids waiting - will you offer them hope?

Hope Homes - Now and Then
Hope Homes are residential homes for vulnerable children. HCC is currently raising kids from 10 different Liberian tribes, brought together as one family in Christ. They are harmonious homes with worship, prayer and Scripture shared each morning/evening. The kids receive a Lutheran education and are raised in a structured environment of chores, homework, respecting authority and loving their family and friends. Their motto is "to learn and be good citizens". Each child is created unique in the image of God, therefore each child has a different pathway for their future. Some kids may attend a university while others a vocational training school.

The ministry humbly began in 2009, through sponsorships of 9 vulnerable kids in Wenzon, Liberia. A home, school and medical clinic were constructed and the number of sponsored orphans increased to 18 kids in 2014. A flood in 2014 forced the entire home to be evacuated and move into a rental home until a new home could be constructed.
Hope and Care for Children, Inc in Liberia, was birthed in 2016 which is a Liberian non-profit organization on the ground. They are blessed with the responsibility of raising these children in the love of Jesus and teaching them to follow Christ in becoming future leaders. Imagine a child who yesterday, struggled to eat one bowl of rice, yet tomorrow has the opportunity to become a pastor, teacher, medical doctor.
The Hope and Care Orphanage is home to 64 children in Joehzon, Margibi County, the main campus and national headquarters for Hope and Care for Children. A second Home in Foya, Lofa County is home to 10 additional children.
